This post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to develop and consolidate their clinical skills in a specialist paediatric community setting. We are looking for a dynamic, professional and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our friendly & supportive multi-disciplinary team. Our team is a joint Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy service working with children aged 0-19 in Rotherham. We are a neurological and neurodevelopmental service based at TRFT's Child Development Centre. We work across clinics, patient homes and school settings.
Main duties of the job
- To manage a personal complex clinical caseload of children with a range of neurodevelopmental disorders and in various community settings.
- To work as an autonomous practitioner to assess and treat a caseload of patients within paediatrics.
- To support Band 7 staff in the planning and organisation of the Occupational Therapy service.
- To supervise/teach Band 5 Occupational Therapist, therapy assistants and undergraduate students and be involved in the teaching of multidisciplinary team staff.
- To undertake evidence based practice and participate in departmental research and audit.
- To adhere to departmental protocols, trust policies and HCPC code of conduct and National standards where they exist
- To provide specialist Occupational Therapy advice commensurate with grade to other professionals both within the trust and outside agencies e.g. Health visitors and schools.
