An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Ward Clerk to join the team on Sitwell Ward. Sitwell Ward 14 bedded, busy elective/emergency surgical ward looking after patients from a wide range of specialities including general surgery, urology and maxillofacial. We have a friendly, well-established surgical team with whom we work with daily to provide high quality care to our patients.
The post holder will work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team in a supportive clinical environment. Main duties of the job
The ward clerk role often provides the first point of contact to the ward. The ideal candidate should ideally have experience in a hospital environment, be motivated and enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skill and be a team player. They should also be compassionate, accountable and dedicated to treating colleagues and patients with respect.The applicant will be expected to work as part of a team, manage their own time and prioritise their workload effectively. The role requires the applicant to have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with good IT knowledge and skills.
The main duties of the role include providing administrative support for the ward including admitting and discharging patients, greeting ward attenders, booking appointments for patients, responding to queries face to face, via the telephone and by email, ensure patient notes are maintained and other general ward duties.
The applicant must also maintain patient confidentiality at all times and contribute to a positive patient experience on the ward.We are offering an opportunity to work with a dedicated team who puts the care and safety of their patients at the forefront of everything they do.
