Working pattern and duration: 0.8WTE (30hrs) until September 2026
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Dietitian to lead on the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of best practice in relation to nutrition within cancer prehabilitation and rehabilitation services.
As the Dietetic Lead within the Active Together Service, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering a high-quality, patient-centred nutrition service for individuals affected by cancer. This role sits within a vibrant, award-winning Dietetic Department of 41 staff, known for its supportive culture and excellent administrative support.
You will work as part of a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure a seamless integration of nutritional care into the cancer prehabilitation and rehabilitation pathway. The post offers the opportunity to influence and improve clinical outcomes for patients, contribute to service evaluation and development, and be involved in innovative models of care.
Main duties of the job
- You will work as part of a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure a seamless integration of nutritional care into the cancer prehabilitation and rehabilitation pathway. The post offers the opportunity to influence and improve clinical outcomes for patients, contribute to service evaluation and development, and be involved in innovative models of care.
- Collaborate closely with MDT colleagues to develop, implement and evaluate nutrition care pathways for patients undergoing cancer treatment.
- Provide advanced, evidence-based nutritional assessment and intervention for patients across the cancer care continuum.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Lead on audits, data collection and service evaluations to demonstrate clinical outcomes and service impact.
- Act as a source of expert advice for other healthcare professionals and provide supervision and support for junior staff and students.
- Liaise with stakeholders across acute and community settings to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Support the development of patient education materials and resources in line with best practice guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within patient records and Trust systems.
- Take an active role in departmental meetings, CPD activities and contribute to the strategic direction of the Dietetic Service.

- Diploma/Degree in Dietetics
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. - Student Clinical Educators Training
- Attainment of validated post registration qualification at Masters level in nutritional support i.e. PEN clinical update
- Involvement with Student Training
