We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a Cardiographer for the Cardiology Suite. This is a busy service providing specialist assessment and support for people with known or suspected heart conditions. You will join a focussed team providing support within the Cardiology Service. You will be an integral member of the Cardiology team performing basic cardiac investigations which involve direct patient contact (such as 12 Lead Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Fitting & Removal of Ambulatory ECG & BP Monitors). Candidates should have the desire to work in a healthcare environment, possess a professional attitude and be able to work flexibly in a busy team and individually. Main duties of the job

Basic clinical observations i.e. heart rate, height, weightPerforming 12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)Lying and standing blood pressure monitoringTo fit and remove Ambulatory ECG and BP monitorsTo assist in more complex cardiac procedures under the direction of the supervising physiologist (e.g. patient preparation, six minute walk tests, giving out home monitors)To recognise normal and abnormal heart rhythms at a basic interpretation levelTo assist in the training of new starters and traineesTo recognise situations or test findings which need bringing to the attention of senior colleagues/ medical staff for clinical interpretationTo check the technical quality and calibration of basic equipment and to report any adverse findings to a senior member of staffTo assist in other areas of cardiology under supervision as appropriateTo transport (portering) patients to different areas of the hospital where appropriateTo assist in other areas of cardiology under supervision as appropriatePerformance of basic care procedures and techniquesTo work flexibly in accordance with the department needs. This may involve changing working days and/or working towards a 7-day service. Works in a range of clinical settings which may include a community location in the future
