This is an exciting upgrade opportunity for an existing Band 6 Cardiac Physiologist to work as the Band 7 Clinical Practice Educator at Rotherham general Hospital.
The department is progressive and recognises the need to develop the future workforce. This is a clinical role and the successful candidate will deliver on-the-job training within the department and support education needs.
You must be highly motivated, able to influence others, be empathetic and have in depth knowledge of cardiac physiology training pathways. The Cardiac Physiology Service at Rotherham is evolving and requires flexible and forward thinking staff to shape our future. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills to work autonomously and act as a positive role model within the department.
You will be an experienced Band 6 Cardiac Physiologist with a passion for training and supporting others.
Applicants must be a qualified Cardiac Physiologist/Clinical Scientist and hold appropriate qualifications as per job specification. A training or assessors qualification is essential.
RCCP/ AHCS/ HCPC registration is mandatory.
If not held already, Clinical Scientist Equivalence is expected within 12months of appointment. A post graduate clinical qualification is desirable (e.g. PG Cert/ BHRS/ BSE). The successful candidate must have experience of working as a Clinical Practice Educator or in a training focussed role.
Main duties of the job
As the Band 7 Clinical Practice Educator within Cardiac Physiology you will:
- Deliver and assess high quality clinical training and education to students and other personnel
- Maintain and develop clinical expertise delivering evidence based practice
- Be supported to maintain relevant assessor qualifications
- Demonstrate leadership skills & initiative to assist in the day-to-day coordination of the Cardiac Physiology Service
