Digital Communications Assistant

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Communications Team on a substantive basis. The team are based on site at Rotherham Hospital, and provide effective and timely communications to internal and external audiences through digital channels. You will work with colleagues, partners and key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

The Trust has recently renewed its external website, and you will have a pivotal role in supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of the content. You will also support the development, migration and ongoing maintenance of the Trusts intranet, as well as social media channels and newsletters. We are looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a sound knowledge of different writing styles (including writing for web) and knowledge of accessibility standards.

You will have excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage your own workload. This role is office based at Rotherham Hospital with possibility of some hybrid working. The post holder may need to travel to other Trust sites when required.

Main duties of the job

This is an interesting and varied job role with duties including:

Helping to develop and maintain content on the Trust's website

Helping to maintain, review and update website content on a regular basis

Monitor website traffic and the effectiveness of digital campaigns

Working with departments to maintain, review and update the Trusts intranet

Monitoring social media and posting engaging content through the Trusts accounts

Supporting with internal newsletters and publications, including drafting content, proofreading, design and publishing

Supporting the Communications Team with activities, such as events, VIP visits, filming, briefings and major incidents

Responsible for assisting with the day to day management of all digital channels

There will be opportunities to get involved in other areas of the teams work and develop your skills and knowledge further
