We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and experienced Nurse leader.

Within Care Group Four (Community Care, Therapies and Dietetics, Imaging and Dental) we have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Nurse to assume the position of Deputy Head of Nursing. Our ideal candidate will serve as a positive role model, consistently embodying the Trust values and demonstrating a commitment to supporting and developing colleagues while providing the effective senior-level leadership required by this post.

Reporting directly to the Care Group Head of Nursing, this role encompasses oversight of a designated portfolio of clinical areas and staff, deputising for the Care Group Head of Nursing as needed, leading delegated projects within the Care Group, and contributing to the development and implementation of the Trust and Care Group nursing strategy.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Care Group Head of Nursing in the development and delivery of clinical services, upholding professional standards, and fostering nursing leadership across the Care Group.

The successful candidate will be a visible and influential Nurse leader, skilled in inspiring and motivating teams, collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues, and cultivating robust professional networks.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide leadership for the teams within the Care Group, including Nursing, Allied Health professionals and administrative teams, maintaining a visible presence to support high quality, responsive services focused on patient need.
  • Work collaboratively with the Care Group Senior Leadership Team to efficiently manage assigned projects and meet targets within available resources.
  • Work with the Care Group Senior Leadership Team to maintain effective Care Group quality governance systems and processes.
  • Be accessible to patients, staff, and visitors to ensure quality and that the fundamentals of care are met.
  • Lead projects aimed at developing services within the Care Group to support the Care Group move to continuous improvement.
  • Support the Care Group Head of Nursing by providing professional leadership and monitoring of standards within the Care group.

  • Significant proven experience at a senior nurse level (band 8 and above).
  • Significant proven post registration experience.
  • Experience of multi professional team working

Desirable

  • Record of successful change management.
  • Evidence of developing and introducing new methods of working, including monitoring and evaluating systems.
  • Experience of dealing with the safeguarding agenda.

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse/ with current NMC registration
  • Evidence of post registration continuous professional development.
  • Evidence of an accredited management/leadership training or evidence of practical application at this level.
  • Diploma / Degree in Nursing / Health related subject.
