2 full time roles available

The role of the Activity Coordinator will support the gains made in therapeutic treatment sessions with therapists and nurses by providing therapeutic activities to embed functional skills.

Social areas are provided both indoors and outdoors with opportunities to continue hobbies and recreation and socialise.

This role will have the responsibility of coordinating activities for patients and be expected to manage resources efficiently.

You will also be responsible for getting to know your patients by ensuring the "hospital passports" e.g.. This is Me are completed so you can use this information to provide suitable activities with which your patients will engage.

Main duties of the job

  • Assist in delivering activity programmes that promote Rehabilitation and prevent De conditioning
  • Work alongside ward team and therapy team to facilitate activity sessions. Assist in promoting independence.
  • Support patients at meal times to encourage hydration and nutrition.
  • Prepare environment for activities and ensure appropriate resources are available.
  • Organising and encouraging participation in tea parties and themed events

  • Demonstrate a kind and caring manner with an understanding disposition of the needs of the older persons who has dementia or Stroke.
  • Be interested and committed to caring for all patients including older people from any culture environmental background or illness.
  • Able to accommodate the demands of the post with flexible working as required and has good attendance.
  • Precise and methodical in working practice and able to work under own initiative.
  • Evidence of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confidentiality understanding of Information Governance.
