We are excited to invite applications for the position of Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Oncology and/or Cross-sectional Imaging at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, friendly and forward-thinking team working in our modern, busy hospital that provides a broad range of clinical services to the communities of Rotherham and South Yorkshire.
Overall we are seeking to appoint three Consultant Radiologists to support the needs of our expanding service; we warmly welcome applicants with other subspecialty interests who are enthusiastic about joining our team.
These new fully funded positions reflect the growing demand for radiological services and offer the opportunity to contribute to a well-equipped Department of Clinical Radiology including 2 1.5T MRI scanners, 3 CT scanners, interventional suite, 19 US machines, 2 SPECT CT cameras.
Our hospital is proud to have Associated Teaching Hospital status and strong ties to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Radiology Training Scheme and the Sheffield University Medical School.
If you are looking for a role in a progressive, supportive, and well-resourced environment with a great team spirit, wed love to hear from you.
Whether you are an experienced Consultant or approaching you CCT, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about the role or wish to learn more about the department.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will, together with the existing Consultant team, play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic services within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The post is offered at 10 PAs, with opportunities for additional insourcing.
Your role will include participation in relevant Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, with appropriate time allocated in your job plan.
You will be expected to participate in the general diagnostic on call rota, currently 1 in 9. These posts would support moving towards a 1 in 12 on call rota. Access to images out of hours is available from Consultant homes via PACS home workstations with remote access to Trust IT systems. Urgent cross-sectional imaging undertaken after 8pm weekdays and 6pm weekends are outsourced. There is no interventional on call requirement.
To be eligible for this role, you must hold full GMC registration with CCT/CESR and FRCR (or equivalent).
This is a full-time position. However, any candidates wishing to work part-time will be eligible for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job plan will be discussed on a personal basis with the Care Group Clinical Director and Clinical Lead in Radiology to meet the needs of the service.
The Trust is committed to the revalidation process and appropriate SPA time is identified to facilitate the requirements to meet this.
