Job summary
As part of a busy and progressive Clinical Diagnostic Centre (CDC), the Respiratory and Sleep Physiology department is looking for a committed individual to join an expanding, friendly and high-performing team, as a Band 6 Specialised Respiratory Physiologist on a fixed term contract. The department is very progressive and is involved in a range of in initiatives at regional and national level. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like further their experience in healthcare science. The service is delivered mainly at the CDC, Breathing Space, Badsley Moor Lane. You will be involved in the delivery of diagnostic and therapy procedures in the management of respiratory disease and sleep disorders in a range of patients from a variety of backgrounds. Personal development is actively encouraged and CPD activities are supported.
Main duties of the job
On appointment, depending on your skills and experience, when you have successfully completed your initial period of orientation and training, you will practice as an independent Specialised Respiratory Physiologist in respiratory and sleep physiology. The role is heavily IT based so a good knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, and you will know how to use the specialist software systems in the department. You will also be expected to complete a number of Mandatory and Statutory Training (MaST) courses such as safeguarding, information governance and health and safety. As a Specialised Respiratory Physiologist you will have organisational and operational responsibilities and participate in the training of junior staff. You will also be responsible for day to day running and decision-making within your scope of practice.
