Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our nationally recognised and respected Vascular Access Team at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

The Vascular Access Team is a specialist nursing team that includes Clinical Nurse Specialists, Assistant Practitioners and Clinical Support Workers. The team is well established and has been providing a service at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust for over 30 years.

We are looking to strengthen our team further and are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as a Clinical Nurse.

Within this busy clinical service, you will assist in providing specialist assessment and support for people requiring insertion and care of intravenous access devices. The individual will also be responsible for ultrasound guided PICC and midline placement, cannulation and phlebotomy. You will be an integral member of the Vascular Access Team. You will contribute to a trust wide supportive service providing expert clinical skills and knowledge for patients requiring intravenous access and IV therapy. The individual will also be responsible for delivering trust wide education sessions.

This role is 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The fundamental role and responsibilities for this vacancy are as follows;

- NMC registered

-The post holder is responsible for ultrasound guided PICC, midline and cannulation placement on a daily basis in addition to ultrasound guided venepuncture.

- The post holder is responsible for supporting all members of the Vascular Access Team.

- In the absence of the team leader, the post holder will be expected to co-ordinate the Vascular Access Team and day-to-day planning.

- The post holder is responsible for managing PICC triage clinic.

-The post holder is responsible for undertaking education, audit and surveillance associated with vascular access on a weekly basis.

- The post holder will maintain accurate clinical records every time they undertake clinical duties.
