Job summary
We are looking for a passionate band 6 neonatal nurse to join this excellent supporting and caring team which strives to deliver specialist neonatal care. The unit is a Local Neonatal Unit with 14 cots including 2 intensive care and 2 high dependency level cots. The unit is part of the Yorkshire and Humber neonatal ODN.
- Full Time 37 hours 30 mins per week however part time will be considered. Candidates must be qualified in speciality for neonatal critical care.

Main duties of the job
As an experienced neonatal nurse you will be expected to plan and deliver safe effective care to babies and their families in the neonatal unit. You should have a detailed understanding of the principles of family integrated care.
As a band 6 nurse you will be expected to support junior staff to develop high dependency and intensive care skills as part of their development. This includes supervising and assessing students on clinical placements.
The band 6 nurse is expected to co-ordinate the shift on a regular basis, escalating any concerns or changes accurately and in a timely manner
You will be expected to contribute to and lead on service developments, quality improvements and changes in practice in response to national guidance, incident investigations and evidence based practice.
You will be working collaboratively with the Neonatal unit and Childrens services leadership team contributing to cohesive team working and fostering positive professional relationships.
As a specialist nurse you will be expected to develop enhanced clinical skills to support safe effective care of patients and enhance care delivery.
