Part time vacancy - 15 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic individual to join Critical Care as a Ward Housekeeper. The post holder will be expected to work 2 days per week 15 hours in total.
The successful individual will need to be able to work with the Ward leadership team to ensure that all facilities on the ward are conducive to a clean, safe and comfortable environment.We are looking for an individual who has a flexible approach to their working day and someone who has a focus of supporting the clinical staff to assist in a smooth and efficient service for our patients.Candidates should be energetic and forward thinking. Must have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated.
Main duties of the job
The main elements of the role are supporting the smooth and efficient delivery of care within the ward environment by the delivery of nursing aspects of cleaning, catering and supplies management, together with other specified tasks to meet patient's needs.
- Arrange and supervise the service of meals and diets, taking account of patients nutritional requirements.
- Transport specimens and any appropriate requests to Labs / Pharmacy etc. and collect same where necessary.
- Participate in organising the reception of new patients and relatives
- Ensure that adequate supplies of linen including nightwear for patient use is available at all times.
- Deal with telephone calls as appropriate and when requested. Respect personal privacy, individuality and dignity of patients and their relatives.
- Be aware of and adhere to policy statements on the provision of Health and Safety at Work in relation to patient care.
- Maintain complete confidentiality with regard to all patient issues.
