This post is equates to more than 5 days a week Term time only.
Part time -We would consider people who wanted part time work, term time only or a full whole time the whole role term time only.
Base:Kimberworth Place, Kimberworth Road, Rotherham S61 1HE (5 mins from Meadowhall shopping centre).
This is likely to be a rolling 1 year fixed term contract which renews each September for the rest of the school year.
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist in our friendly and innovative Speech and Language Therapy team.
We are looking for a dynamic SLT to provide assessment, advice and intervention for mainstream primary schools buying in our traded SLT service.
The post holder would ideally have experience working with children with developmental speech and language delays and disorders and preferably have experience working in a school environment collaboratively working with educational professionals to help meet the schools individual Speech Language and Communication needs.
There are additional hours being advertised in the SaLT core NHS service and applicants are welcome to apply for both and do a mix of the two roles.
Main duties of the job
To provide a service to mainstream schools working to agreed targets with the schools, working at universal, targeted and specialist level.
Duties may include:
Assessing and setting programmes for individual children.
Screening foundation stage classes.
Setting up groups for schools to run.
Providing training sessions for school staff.
Liaising with parents.
Evaluating impact of the service and suppling yearly outcome report.
Rotherham is a friendly and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy department. Caseloads are divided into specialist teams to ensure that all therapists working with similar client groups are part of a strong supporting team.
This post sits within the Traded schools SLT teams.
The department offers a formal mentoring, peer support and a Personal Development Review system which ensures that training and learning needs can be identified and met appropriately.
