The opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join the Stroke Unit 26 hours hours per week. This is predominantly early evening cover - hours will be flexible after discussion around with day shift cover on weekends.

The ward clerk is pivotal to the smooth running of the Stroke unit, the work can be demanding at times but is very rewarding knowing you are supporting keeping the patients Safe and Sound. Your job will be providing an administrative service to the medical and nursing teams on the ward.
The ward clerk role is such an integral and core function in providing support to the teams that are on the front line of patient care. If you have the skills to communicate with all grades of staff, patients and the public, and have a background of administrative work , answering the telephone filing, ordering of supplies and can keep calm in an extremely busy environment you may be suited to working with our friendly Multidisciplinary team.
The role can be challenging at times and requires someone with a calm and flexible approach to work.
Main duties of the job
Responsible to the Ward Manager for the provision of efficient, confidential and effective general administration support within Maternity Services. The post-holder will be the initial point of contact for users of the Service, providing a professional approach when dealing with enquiries and to direct enquiries appropriately. Undertake a wide range of administrative and clerical duties in respect of providing Maternity care to the population of Rotherham, ensuring recording and monitoring of patient records are in line with service specifications for the service. Support Stroke Unit staff, ensuring good communication is maintained at all times to provide a high quality service for service users.
