An opportunity has become available within the Trauma & Orthopaedic department. The role is Trauma Co-Ordinator. The role is pivotal to the smooth coordination of all Orthopaedic trauma patients, between UECC, Fracture Clinic and Theatres
Main duties of the job
Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out nursing procedures. Responsible for the safe coordination of all trauma patients, Attend the Trauma meeting every morning and contribute to the safe allocation of a clinical pathway for the patients. The role will require the arranging of Theatre slots, out patient appointments, urgent blood tests and xrays.along with producing the trauma list and a monthly audit which will be presented to the whole senior team in orthopaedics at the Bi Monthly clinical effectiveness meeting.the post holder will be expected to be trained in vascular access and venepuncture in order to facilitate urgent blood tests or IV fluids at times of urgency.
