An opportunity has arisen within the Day Surgery and Theatre Admissions Unit for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. We are looking for a positive role model who can engage others and help drive the services we already provide forward. The successful candidate will help manage the services we provide across the Day Surgery Centre and Theatre Admissions Unit. Good communication and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to lead a team to deliver a high quality service to patients. We are looking for a leader with a flexible and motivated attitude who thrives in a teamwork environment.

The work rota does not currently include Bank Holidays; however, the successful candidate will be expected to cover evening and weekend sessions.

Main duties of the job

The position involves managing the workload and team of both TAU and DSC ensuring high standards of patient care are delivered. The successful candidate will oversee both departments to ensure that theatre activity is utilised by co-orinating patients are prepared for theatre safely and on time. They will also be responsible for the safe management of the nurse led discharge unit of day surgery. Both Units care for pre and post-operative elective surgical patients and Orthopaedic Day Case Trauma patients.
