Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Resuscitation Officer to work within Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. Applicants are expected to demonstrate excellent teaching/clinical skills within the field of resuscitation practise to all staff groups within adult, child and neonatal patient groups.As a member of the team, you will led and supported by the Lead Resuscitation Officer for whom you will deputise in there absence in topic specific meetings.The service has an excellent reputation for the delivery of high quality blended resuscitation education using a mixture of high fidelity simulation equipment.The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:*A good understanding of the Resuscitation Council UK 2021 guidelines. Experience of teaching/attending Resuscitation Council courses like ILS/PILS/ALS/EPALS/NLS and a good experience of delivering clinical skills to staff is essential.*Have experience in working in an acute setting having exposure to deteriorating patients and resuscitation activities is essential.*An ability to work autonomously in a clinical resuscitation team role, able to gain IV/IO access/drug administration, manage an airway appropriately, able to safely to defibrillate in manual mode.*Ambition and drive to develop the service under the guidance of the Lead Resuscitation Officer and Senior Leadership within the Corporate group making the service a centre of excellence.

Main duties of the job

This is primarily a clinical training role; the post holder will be required to:

Support the Lead Resuscitation officer in the provision and development of a high quality Resuscitation Service for TRFT.

To take a lead role in the planning, facilitating and delivery of clinical, medical and resuscitation training across the Trust, to a multidisciplinary audience, using a nationally recognised competency based approach.

Alongside the Lead Resuscitation Officer attend cardiac arrest/emergency calls.

The post holder will also support in the development, monitoring and reviewing of audits, policies, practices and governance arrangements relevant to resuscitation and other related matters, ensuring there is compliance and escalating appropriately any identified areas of risk.

They will also deputise for the Lead Resuscitation Officer, representing the Resuscitation Service locally.
