Job summary

Responsible to the Facilities Manager to support the provision of professional line-management in order to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of Facilities Services at the hospital. The services will include Cleaning, Deep Cleaning, Laundry/linen, General Office and Accommodation services.

Line manage Facilities Supervisors to ensure that the portfolio of services, ad-hoc tasks and projects are planned, managed and delivered effectively within the allocated financial budget.

Administrator for MICAD Cleaning audit tool and oversee the Supervisors for the completion of cleaning and Star ratings to the required National Cleaning Standards.

Main duties of the job

Complete cleaning audit schedules and ensure these are carried out within the allocated time frame. Liaise with ward matrons and managers.

Involvement in the Efficacy Audits required through the National Standards of Cleaning.

Cover for Management Team for issues that arise in their absence.

Line Manage a team of domestic supervisors - either directly or through intermediary managers/supervisors - for counselling, disciplinary and all first-contact Human Resource issues.

Oversee the Facilities Supervisors on work load priorities and staffing allocation

Completion of General/Manual Handling Risk Assessments.

Involvement in staff sickness/absence levels in accordance with Trust Policy.

Ensure required standards of cleanliness are consistently achieved in line with Targets, Trust policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), cleaning schedules and work plans
