post of Head of Nursing for the Urgent & Emergency Care Centre
The Head
of Nursing for UECC will provide expert objective nursing leadership across the
Trust in supporting patient safety and care, timely patient flow and early
discharge. The post holder is responsible for oversight of delivery of safe,
effective, well led, responsive care.
You will
need to be a strong communicator to deliver change in an engaging way and
articulate our vision of becoming an outstanding trust, delivering excellent
healthcare at home, in our community and in our hospital for a truly
transformed future state to challenge the traditional systems and ways of

Main duties of the job
The Head of Nursing is accountable for working in partnership with the Deputy Chief Operating Officer to manage quality, productivity and finance across a portfolio of services within the UECC. The Head of Nursing will line manage the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre Team which consists of the Alcohol Liaison Team and the Emergency Department and the Clinical Site Management Team.
The Head of Nursing will provide strategic leadership within and across the services on quality including; patient experience, patient safety and regulatory compliance.
You must have a track record in quality, safety and operational leadership with a clear focus on the development and sustainability of services both from a safety, quality, outcomes and experience perspective with a clear drive and passion for service change, delivery and transformation. Previous experience of managing patient flow and discharge teams would be advantageous.
