Applications are invited for the post of Specialty
Doctor in Dermatology at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT).
The Dermatology Department at the Rotherham
NHS Foundation Trust has a well established and highly performing team treating
a broad range dermatological conditions including skin cancer. The successful applicant will join Locum
Consultants, Associate Specialist, a team of Speciality Doctors, 2 Nurse
Consultants, Matron, a group of Nurse Specialists, Department Manager and the
nursing team to complement, strengthen and help further develop the service.
This is a full-time (10PA) post and part-time positions will also be
considered.
Main duties of the job
The post
holder will be expected to contribute with consultant colleagues and peers to
the provision of a hospital-based specialist Dermatology service.
Key
Tasks:
Provide general
dermatology capacity
Maintenance of the
highest clinical standards in the practice of surgery and dermatology.
Teaching and
training of junior staff and allied medical/ nursing staff.
To actively
participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning
clinicalgovernance, audit and research
To have
responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional
development (CPD)
As well as fulfilling his/ her clinical
responsibilities, the post holder will be expected to play a part in the
Dermatology departments teaching activities and in development projects from
time to time as agreed with the departments other senior staff.
Undertake any other duties as deemed
appropriate and discussed with the senior management team

The Dermatology department is part of the Division
of Integrated Medicine which is committed to transforming the way health care
is provided. The Division provides a
number of unscheduled and scheduled services through integrated patient
pathways which put the patient at the centre of their care, embracing innovation
and new ideas. The Department has historically enjoyed very good relations with
local GP's and the CCG, as well as the other South Yorkshire Dermatology Teams.
The
Division is led by a Director of Clinical Services, General Manager and Head of
Nursing. The Dermatology Department has
an identified Clinical Lead that is supported by an Operational and Performance
Manager and Matron.
The Dermatology Department is a modern and
progressive department which has excellent facilities and comprises a
highly-qualified nursing team and team of doctors: Locum consultant, an
Associate Specialist and experienced Specialty Doctors. One of the Specialty
Doctors is in the process of taking on the role of Consultant through the CESR
route. We also recently appointed 2
excellent candidates to 2 nurse consultant posts. There are established links
with Sheffield and plans to develop these further.
The
department see approximately 6000 new patients per year and performs 500-day
case procedures.
The post
holder will be expected to provide clinical dermatology services within
in-patient and out-patient settings.
The post
holder will be expected to work in partnership with all other members of the
multidisciplinary team ensuring that high quality, safe and effective patient
treatment and care is maintained always.
