Job summary

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and talented Radiographer to join this well-established, friendly, hardworking team. Preferably with CT experience, however a training post (Band 5 grade) would be considered if the appropriate candidate was identified. This summer the CT department will also be expanding, providing a larger CT suite area and replacing the oldest scanner with a top of the range Siemens Somatom Drive - Dual Source.

The CT Imaging department provides services to Trauma, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Vascular, General Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Breast, Neurology and Stroke Services.

We actively support post graduate education in both CT and MRI and have Advanced Practice CT Radiographers reporting CT Head and CT Colonography examinations. We make every effort to support growth here at TRFT, looking at innovative ways to develop personally and professionally.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, professionalism and a flexible approach to working in order to deliver excellent patient care and provide an efficient service her at TRFT. Working in a fast paced environment as a Senior Radiographer managing and prioritising work load whilst maintaining relationships with colleagues within the team and throughout the trust. Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement. The current CT service has expanded due to the increase in demand with a rolling shift pattern of contracted hours over seven days including nights shifts.

We currently operate CT: Siemens AS 64, AS+ 128 and Somatom Go 32 Slice CT Scanners. TRFT serves a local population of approximately 260,000. The Accident and Emergency Department deals with approximately 75,000 patients per year and there are approximately 55,000 inpatient and 250,000 outpatient attendances each year.
