We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and engaged and forward thinking Clinical Endoscopy Practitioner to join our busy, friendly Endoscopy team, who will assist in developing our progressive service.

Joining a current team of four Nurse Endoscopists you would undertake your own endoscopy lists.

As a result of plans to expand the Endoscopy unit an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Endoscopy practitioner to join our well-established, endoscopy service.

You will be carrying out up to 8 endoscopy sessions per week across 4/5 days, including weekend cover and working flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Endoscopy Nurse / Practitioner will be an experienced practitioner who is able to demonstrate a very high degree of autonomy and complex decision making based on an application and interpretation of broad clinical policies, with a personal and professional skill in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

You will play a role in implementing agreed standardised protocols/guidelines with associated clinicians to improve organisation and delivery of high quality care according to best clinical governance models and in accordance with Trust, network and national guidelines (including BSG and JAG) for Endoscopy.

The post holder will be required to manage clinical care and be accountable for their own area of practice.

The post-holder will be an independent prescriber. Working within their own sphere of competence, they will initiate, alter and stop medication related to their field of practice as determined by assessment and in line with relevant clinical guidelines. This includes safe sedation and analgesia for endoscopic procedures.
