Job summary
The post holder will play a key administrative and coordination role in supporting the effective planning, delivery, and documentation of the Adrenal, Thyroid, and Pituitary Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings. These specialist MDTs bring together a range of healthcare professionals including endocrinologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, and specialist nurses to ensure comprehensive, patient-centred management plans are agreed for individuals with complex endocrine/endocrinology conditions.
The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all cases are appropriately listed for discussion, relevant diagnostic and clinical information is available in advance, and meeting outcomes are accurately recorded and disseminated in a timely manner. The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information in line with Trust policies and national MDT standards.
The post holder will work closely with clinical teams, secretarial staff, and information systems to support service delivery, audit compliance, and improvements in patient care pathways
Main duties of the job
The MDT coordinator is responsible for organising and supporting Adrenal, Thyroid, and Pituitary MDT meetings, ensuring all relevant cases are submitted with the appropriate clinical information.
They take accurate minutes during meetings, document decisions, and distribute outcomes to the clinical teams promptly.
The role includes booking follow-up appointments, tracking investigations, and vetting/listing referrals as agreed in the MDT, and tracking patient progress to ensure timely care.
The coordinator liaises with clinicians and departments to ensure smooth communication, maintains secure and accurate records, and assists with data collection for audits and service improvement. They also provide general administrative support to the endocrine team as needed
