Outpatient Clinic Receptionist - Children's Burns and Plastics

Job summary

We are looking for a part time receptionist to join our team working on the Children's Burns and Plastics Unit Dressing Clinic.

The Children's Burns and Plastics Dressing Clinic is a regional clinic providing specialised care to children and young people throughout the Midlands.

We are a happy and friendly team with a diverse skill mix and will be welcoming to the successful candidates.

You will be managing reception, welcoming patients and ensuring that all relevant administrative tasks are completed to provide the expected high standard of care for children during their outpatient visit

For this exciting and challenging role candidates must have good communication skills, be keen to develop their administrative and clerical skills and be a team player. Receptionist skills and knowledge of the hospital systems would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job will be as per job description and personal specification:

Clinic preparation is the responsibility of the receptionist

Greet patients at reception, check their personal details are correct and if necessary, amend in patient systems accordingly, ensuring patient confidentiality and accuracy.

Ensure all clinic outcomes are recorded accurately for multiple specialties within one working day and escalate any issues with follow up bookings to the admin team.

Receive and respond to enquiries from relatives/external agencies adhering to Trust confidentiality guidelines at all times.

Maintain tidy, safe working environment, reporting any hazards or faults timely and appropriately.

Present a professional, polite and courteous attitude at all times and be appropriately dressed when on duty.

Collection of burns data (IBID forms) on a daily basis, ensuring all data has been collated accurately and added to departmental database.
