Registered Biomedical Scientist Microbiology (Band 5)

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Due to maternity leave we have an opportunity for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with experience in an NHS Clinical microbiology service but as yet not secured a Biomedical Scientist post to gain valuable experience in a BMS role within a microbiology laboratory within a large teaching hospital.

This role is a fixed term contract (or secondment if NUH employee) and therefore there is no guarantee to move to a substantive role following the end of contract period. It will however offer the successful candidate the opportunity to gain competency in two clinical microbiology benches which would provide valuable experience for any recruitments they choose to apply for in the future. In addition to having references from a respected IBMS training centre.

Main duties of the job

In addition to the below summary you need to familiarise yourself with full Job Description and Person Specification documents attached to this advert.

Candidates interested in the Registered Biomedical Scientists role must be HCPC registered and have experience working in a Diagnostic Microbiology department, experience working in a UK Diagnostic Microbiology service would be an advantage but is not essential.

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and well-motivated individuals who are good team players.

Interviews will be on site and candidates must state at the top of the supporting statement that they understand this and will be able to attend.
