Locum Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant
Applications are invited for the above part-time post based within Sports and Exercise Medicine at Nottingham University Hospital's. This post will be for a 12 month contract, with a potential to extend.
The successful candidate will deliver a minimum of 4.75 PA's; supporting service delivery & replacing a vacant Consultant post. It is with a view to create a substantive, part-time Consultant appointment in due course.
The post can combine clinical duties from a number of Nottingham University Hospital's NHS Trust sites which include clinic's at the Queen's Medical Centre, the National Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) at Loughborough and Community clinic's at different location's in Nottingham. Candidates should ensure they can reliably commute.
Previous experience of employment in the NHS is mandatory.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the delivery of clinical services and clinical supervision of trainee's with Sports and Exercise Medicine specialty. In addition to outpatient clinic activity, the post holder will participate in the day-to-day running of the service which could include; leading audit and QIP activities and governance work.
Other opportunities include educational supervision of trainee's, working with the integration of SEM into the new National Rehabilitation Centre and collaboration with colleagues in other specialties for the Active Hospitals Pilot legacy. In addition, there is an expectation to contribute to governance and act as an advisor to other departments working to include physical activity interventions across the Trust within the NUH strategy.
