Waiting List Administrator

Job summary

As part of a team, the post holder will be responsible for the management and monitoring of the day case waiting lists for a delegated number of consultants at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and in accordance with Government Access Targets and Trust's Access Policy.

You will also ensure there is an efficient and effective use of available resources at all times.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will book elective TCI dates and associated clinics. The post holder will also play a key central role within the service and is required to work in close liaison with NHS colleagues, stakeholders, patients and the general public.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Good command of the English language - both written and spoken. GCSE Level or equivalent standard in Maths/English
  • NVQ Level 2/3 Business Admin

Desirable

  • Experience of hospital systems such as MEDWAY NOTIS and Medical Office

Experience

Essential

  • A recent past NHS experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge of waiting list processes
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality

Desirable

  • 18 week RTT knowledge and experience

Communication and relationship

Essential

  • Ability to develop good working relationships with medical and other hospital staff at all levels
  • Willing and able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and use own initiative
  • Ability to communicate verbally in a clear and effective way both face to face and on the telephone

Planning and organisation

Essential

  • Works within prescribed deadlines
  • Consistently works to high standards
  • Demonstrates an ability to organise own work schedule

Physical skills

Essential

  • Frequent use of VDU equipment
