Job summary
This is an opportunity to work in an internationally respected unit at the forefront of Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. The successful applicant will be working at senior trainee level.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants need to have full GMC registration. FRCS examinations. Post-CCT with sound basic knowledge in breast surgical oncology and/or breast reconstruction and clinical skills in assessment and management of breast disease is essential along with micro-surgery experience or fellowship.This fellowship will allow surgeons from a Plastic Surgery background with special interest in breast oncology.
The weekly job plan, will be flexible from week to week, with allocated dedicated time in operating theatre and reconstruction clinics working with the entire team, including new referral clinics, MDTs and results clinics.

This is a 40 hour per week post. There is no on-call commitment.
The timetable will vary week to week and will include the following:
Initially supervised and then independent attendance in symptomatic new patient referral clinics
Supervised attendance at MDTs, results and reconstruction clinics, and operating lists. Including preparation and case presentation.
Peri-operative care and operating lists with appropriate supervision including a wide range of breast procedures and lists with all members of the team.
Opportunities to attend specialist clinics eg genetics clinics, screening assessment clinics.
There is scope to progress to independent practice with remote supervision dependent on appropriate competencies.
