Senior Clinical Pharmacist - Surgery

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our large and friendly team delivering the diverse pharmacy service within one of the country's largest teaching trusts. The successful post holder will become an integral part of the ever-growing surgical pharmacy team helping optimise medications management for patients within this area.

As part of the surgical team, you will get to provide complex, pharmaceutical care for patients, optimising their medicines and ensuring the safe & effective transfer of care. You will have mentoring support from specialist pharmacists, and operational ward-based support from medicines management technicians. Nottingham University Hospitals has a national and international reputation for many of its specialist services and expertise. Including many specialist services within the surgical division such as Neurosurgery, Spinal, Intestinal Failure, Hepatobiliary and Major Trauma

In addition, you will build up your knowledge and skills to give you a wealth of experience for your CV.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for working directly with the wider MDT to deliver safe and effective treatment to patients within the surgical specialties at NUH.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and motivated clinical pharmacist to take on responsibility for helping enhance pharmacy input into patient care within the trust. There will also be opportunities to be involved in project and audit work to develop your own skills whilst enhancing patient care. If you don't already have an independent prescribing qualification then there will be an opportunity to apply for this course, which you will be supported through.

You will also get the opportunity to line manage and mentor the junior pharmacists within the department and MPharm students from the University of Nottingham, building your portfolio further.
