NOTTINGHAM UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS TRUSTENT Advanced Rhinology Skull Base FELLOWApplications are invited for the post of ENT Advanced Rhinology Skull Base Fellow for a period of 12 months commencing September 2026. This post will provide senior trainees who have completed the majority of their training with an opportunity to gain further experience in all aspects of rhinology and skull base surgery as part of a large and well established multidisciplinary team (ophthalmology, maxillofacial, neurosurgery).
The competency of a rhinology fellow should extend to being able to effectively supervise and guide less experienced registrar colleagues during rhinology procedures.
Main duties of the job
Duties are at the Queen's Medical Centre Campus, Nottingham University Hospitals. The fellow may participate in a 1 in 8 'hot week' cover arrangement, to participate in the middle tier of on-call provision, and to help with the training and supervision of more junior SpRs and new junior doctors (F2 - ST2). To be considered for the post applicants must be senior trainees, ideally Post CCT or Year 6 (or equivalent).
About us
Our ENT department provides a comprehensive range of ORL-HNS services, and is organised on a sub specialty basis. The department is situated in a purpose built PFI building and is shared with Ophthalmology. There is a 34 bedded inpatient/day case ward for adults, shared with Maxillofacial Surgery and Ophthalmology and a 22 bedded paediatric surgical specialty ward. There are 3 ENT operating theatres with a wide range of equipment including new 4K Karl Storz endoscopy stacks, microscopes, navigation as well as new otology drills being procured. In addition, there over £600K worth of new state-of-the-art videoendoscopic equipment to equip our outpatient consulting rooms.
