Job summary
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to apply for a senior clinical management position at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), combining both a scientific and clinical leadership role with ongoing clinical practice. The Trust has recently re-aligned its clinical services so that the Audiology Service now sits within the Clinical Sciences Directorate alongside other Neurosensory and wider Healthcare Science services.
The Head of Audiology is accountable for all resources and services provided by Audiology, to include all Adult and Paediatric service provision across the 3 Campuses of NUH and multiple sites within the community. This includes the overall strategic, financial and operational management of scientific, rehabilitative and support services in line with Directorate, Organisational and National strategy and developments. It includes Performance targets (DM01) and waiting list management.
The post holder will act as Head of Service for Audiology providing scientific and clinical leadership across the service. The post holder will also operate in a clinical role at Consultant Healthcare Scientist level for approximately 30-40% of the job plan.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Audiology (Consultant Healthcare Scientist) is accountable for the clinical and scientific leadership within the Audiology Service. They will undertake, as required, the full range of advanced adult and paediatric audiological assessments, including advanced audio-vestibular testing. The post holder will take overall responsibility for the Audiology clinical caseload and provide professional, scientific and technical advice on service development and delivery to the Care Group and other agencies as required.
