Job summary
This is an apprentice administration role supporting the wider respiratory team. The post holder will become fully competent in providing administrative support for the Respiratory Service.
Main duties of the job
o To provide administration support to the Respiratory administrative team.
o To undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc. and any other duties required.
o To communicate with staff and visitors on a daily basis, providing support where required and working to help resolve any issues.
o Accurately transcribing from BigHand digital dictation and BigHand Speech Recognition digital dictation, outpatient clinic letters and miscellaneous clinical correspondence to a high standard within specified timescales (mainly audio typing).
o Telephone calls inbound/outbound relating to patients specific care, in a confidential, sensitive and empathetic manner.
o Use and maintain admin and patient databases in relation to patient pathways e.g. for tracking and flagging investigations/results and making appointments.
o Use hospital systems to accurately record patient information, add referrals and book appointments.
o You will be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job, providing support to the wider Respiratory speciality as necessary.
o Undertake mandatory training as required.
