Main duties of the job

Our vision is to be outstanding in health outcomes and patient & staff experience

You will be responsible for developing the clinical pharmacy service to the new rehabilitation centre and supporting the MDT team will all aspects of medicines management. You will provide complex, pharmaceutical care for patients, optimising their medicines, utilising your prescribing skills and ensuring the effective transfer of care of patients both to and from the centre.

You will work closely with the MDT, on & off the ward, to support governance, education and medication safety within the National Rehabilitation Centre.

You will be expected to line manage the junior pharmacists on the team, providing mentoring, and supporting them and the other pharmacy staff at the NRC with their development and objectives.

The NRC programme is being led by NUH and is part of the National New Hospital Programme, transforming rehabilitation services for the future. This will be a ground-breaking 70 bed facility for NHS patients based alongside and closely connected to the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall. The 'Defence' element is complete and has been treating patients since autumn 2018.
