Clinical Educator and Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse

Job summary

This role will include 0.2 WTE as a Clinical Band 6 and 0.8 WTE as a Clinical Educator on the Children's Assessment Unit and Ward E37.

The Children's Assessment Unit/E37 is a dynamic ward area within Nottingham Children's Hospital. The post holder will have the opportunity to work across two areas gaining a plethora of skills in assessing and treating the deteriorating patient.

You must be a RSCN or RN Child qualified nurse with substantial experience of working in an acute children's hospital setting as a Band 5 or Band 6 nurse.

You must be able to lead a team, demonstrating excellent organisational and clinical skills.

The post holder must be a proactive role model who shows leadership and passion within the clinical environment for the provision of high quality education.

They must have a supportive and nurturing attitude and enthusiasm in delivering a high standard of care.

The post holder will be able to deliver specialist education and training for registered and non-registered healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job

Facilitate the development and maintenance of clinical staff competence.

Be responsible for the assessment, delivery and evaluation of clinical education according to individual staff learning needs in clinical practise.

To provide expert advise in training to matters of paediatric medicine.

To encourage and promote innovative change activities within the service.

To support ward department mangers to develop and maintain a clinical learning environment.
