Locum Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist

Job summary

We are seeking to appoint two Locum Consultant Neuroradiologists at Nottingham University Hospitals. This post is to support the increasing local and regional demand for Neuroimaging during this time.

The successful applicants will share responsibility with 14 Diagnostic Neuroradiologists and 4 Interventional Radiologists for the provision of all aspects of Neuro imaging in our Trust with possible future expansion to the Trusts within the regional network.

Main duties of the job

This post will meet the needs of the expanding service within NUH Neuroradiology and Head and Neck radiology at NUH and help provide a specialist neuroradiology on call service at NUH and with weekend working. The post holder will be required to contribute to some activity for the surrounding district general hospitals.

The post holder will work as part of the Neuroradiology team at NUH and take part in all aspects of Neuroimaging services as appropriate including taking an active part in the Multidisciplinary team meetings. The team works flexibly to cover all parts of the Neuroimaging service. There are exciting plans in development to open a new Community Diagnostic Centre in the City Centre in 2025 which will be managed by NUH Radiology. There may be a requirement for staff to rotate to this location as part of this role.

The persons appointed will be required to contribute to the provision of Diagnostic services at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham Treatment Centre and the peripheral hospitals along with other colleagues on a rota. There is also a Community Diagnostic centre opening in the near future.The post includes sessions for reporting time for MRI, CT and possible US and plain film examinations to suit the candidates skills, preference and department needs. There is an obligation to participate in multidisciplinary meetings

The post will be primarily based at QMC campus but we do support our regional partners with Neuro imaging and it may be necessary to travel to peripheral hospitals on occasion.
