The NRC innovation lead will be a key leadership role, supporting and enabling innovation and research activity. With support from the wider Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and NUH R&I department, the post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating innovation activity, liaising with commercial and non-commercial stakeholders and bringing new trials and research opportunities to the NRC. The post holder will hold their own caseload and work alongside the IDT to ensure new equipment and innovations are embedded.

Main duties of the job

The NRC innovation lead will be a key leadership role within the NRC, supporting and enabling innovation and research activity. With support from the Consultant AHP, the wider Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and NUH R&I department, the post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating innovation activity, liaising with commercial and non-commercial stakeholders and bringing new trials and research opportunities to the NRC.

The post holder will hold their own caseload and work alongside the IDT to ensure new equipment and innovations are embedded, tested and utilised in live clinical environments to improve outcomes for our patients. They will be responsible for teaching and supporting staff to ensure the team are confident to work with new technologies and innovations as well as liaise with industry and present at national and international conferences.

The post holder will support innovation for the NRC clinical workforce. They will have high level leadership, analytical and judgment skills to realise the proposed outcomes of the NRC Research & Innovation Strategy through informed development, investment and evaluation of the research, innovation and evidence-based practice (EBP). The post holder will be responsible for compliance with research and professional regulations and professional standards as required by the Health Research Authority, Health Education England, and other national policy, regulatory bodies and research funders as required.
