Job summary

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead ICC Coordinator's to deliver the expansion of the NHS-Coronial-Sudden Unexpected Death (NHS-C-SUD) programme in the East Midlands geography. The NHS-C-SUD programme is an established Genomic Medicine Service (GMS) national transformation programme which aims to identify the cause of death and diagnose and treat relatives who are also potentially at risk of an inherited cardiac condition (ICC). Following a successful 2-year pilot phase, the programme is now moving towards national adoption, and we are excited to recruit an administrator to support with this expansion.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a well-established team, the post holder will support the provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to consultants, SPR's and nurse practitioners. The post holder will be required to undertake a variety of administrative duties including the monitoring of patient results in line with the patient pathways.

The post holder must exercise initiative to organise their own workload and work within defined deadlines.

Job responsibilities

Accurately transcribe clinical letters using BigHand, producing high quality work within defined deadlines.

Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of task within defined deadlines.

Establish and maintain admin systems/databases.

Deal with incoming mail, results/reports management.

Monitoring of clinicians results spreadsheets ensuring results are dealt with in a timely manner ensuring no unnecessary delay to the patient pathway.

Attending meetings where required and taking minutes.

Key point of contact for the clinicians.

Dealing with clinician queries and where appropriate managing diaries.

Telephone calls inbound and outbound relating to patient specific care in a confidential manner.

Typing of non-clinical letters as required.

Rescheduling of appointments at Clinician request.

Provide cover for PA colleagues during times of sickness and annual leave.

Share responsibility with line manager for own personal development.
