An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.6 wte permanent position as a Band 8b Clinical Psychologist with an interest in working in a lifespan amputee service.

This post will provide psychological support for adults and children within the amputee service.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with an interest in Clinical Health Psychology who can show autonomy and resilience.

It is essential that the post-holder will have a doctorate level of Clinical Psychology professional qualification and be registered as a HCPC practitioner clinical psychologist.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role will involve working closely with the Amputee team to offer psychological care to those children, young people and adults within the Amputee service. You will work with children, young people and adults through consultation to staff, direct work and by attending multi-disciplinary clinics. This work will include psychology assessment and input prior to planned amputation and following planned or unplanned amputation.

  • Completion of further post qualification specialist relevant training, including training in the supervision of trainee clinical psychologists
  • Training in 2 or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan/developmental psychology
