This job is now closed

Job summary

In 2020 NUH created an Acute Rescue Team (ART) on the City campus. The purpose of this team is to improve the standard and timeliness of care provided to acutely unwell and deteriorating patients. This is a team of four in addition to a fifthPatient Safety Fellow working within patient safety.

We are seeking a colleague to join our ART team from August 6th 2025 for 12 months.

During the tenure of the post, there will be the opportunity to work 'in hours' for 6 months in each of two specialties - Haematology, Respiratory, Renal or Cardiology. There is also the option to remain in one specialty for the full 12 months.

Doctors will work their 'normal working days' (Monday to Friday) in their base specialty, usually 09:00 - 17:00. Their 'on calls' will be working twilight shifts 16:30 - 02:30 as a block of Monday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday with a 1 in 5 frequency.

We aim to hold interviews on Friday 11th April for this post.

Main duties of the job

The ART Fellow's are service posts so do not have educational approval, but successful applicants will be provided with excellent training and educational opportunities, tailored to meet individual needs. Where service provision allows, successful applicants are encouraged to attend educational teaching sessions.

NUH is a leader in the field of using new data sets to improve doctor experience/training, and has forged strong research links with the University of Nottingham. There will be opportunities to be involved in exciting and innovative projects around the use of novel IT solutions and app development.

Post holders will be expected to keep themselves up to date with current knowledge and practice, to attend clinical meetings within departments and to participate in audit and in service training of other professionals.

Please see the job description document for further detail about the role, the specialties and what can be offered.
