Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Service to support our expanding Capsule Sponge outpatient activity. We are looking to recruit a new team member to work at Nottingham City Hospital as part of a fast paced dynamic admin team.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of an established small team to ensure the smooth running of the Capsule Sponge activity . Answering the phone and taking messages and answering enquiries from patients. Booking clinics and procedures, creating correspondence and supporting the Specialist Nurses, Doctors and Consultants.

Essential

  • oTyping/word processing qualification or equivalent experience. Educated to GCSE standard with passes at grade C or above for English and Maths or similar through vocational training oEvidence of commitment to continued learning or improvement through attendances at courses. oGood command of the English language - both written and spoken.

Desirable

  • BCSS (Open Exeter) Trained

Experience

Essential

  • Previous Office Administration experience demonstrating use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. - Demonstration of a full understanding of patient confidentiality

Desirable

  • Experience of using NHS clinical systems, Medway PAS. - Experience in an Endoscopy or Screening Centre.

Communication and relationship skills

Essential

  • - Must be compassionate and empathetic to patient queries - Uses correct grammar and Spelling - Able to produce accurate letters, reports A/I- Friendly, helpful and professional telephone manner - Able to convey information to patients and colleagues

Analytical and Judgement skills

  • - Able to use judgement to made decisions in the best interests of the patient. - Use resources effectively - Can work in line with standard procedures

Planning and organisation skills
