Job summary
Be based in the Nottingham Children's Hospital and will work collaboratively within the Nottingham and Leicester Paediatric and Adolescent multi-professional Immunology teams.
In addition the Post Holder will provide regional support to the North East Midlands in respect of Paediatric and Adolescent Immunology and HIV
Be responsible for the day to day operational management of the service.
Support the strategic development and commissioning of the clinical networks for paediatric immunology and HIV.
Ensure the advancement of patient focused care and support through a collaborative approach with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
This role requires a high level of autonomy and decision making.
Main duties of the job
To provide strong clinical leadership skills, energising, inspiring and empowering all clinical staff in pursuit of a shared vision to ensure the effective management of all services within the area of responsibility and in shared care/ network centres.
Assess the child's needs, developing and enabling the implementation and evaluation of highly specialised programmes of care, tailored to the requirements of individual children with immunology conditions and HIV, whilst taking account of parents'/carers wishes.
When necessary to deputise for Consultant Immunologist's in their absence, offering advice and guidance and as necessary seeking appropriate medical care from medical colleagues within the Trust or seek expertise externally from Shared Care medical colleagues.
