Dietitian - Neonates - progression post subject to annex 21

Job summary

We are looking to appoint a Dietitian on a progression post at NUH starting as a band 6 progressing to a band 7 subject to annex 21 to support Neonates at NUH as part of Nottingham Children's hospital . We have been fortunate to gain additional funding to expand the dietetic service provision to the Neonatal service at NUH

This is a permanent 1 WTE and will cover the neonatal units at both the QMC and City campuses of NUH . This post will also include working with neonatal out patient reviews and attendance at consultant led clinics.

You will also be working closely with our AHP colleagues in Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy and Dietetics as well as the wider MDT including the neonatal outreach nurses to deliver a comprehensive Neonatal service.

Main duties of the job

You will be a highly specialist dietitian supporting babies and their families under the neonatal services . Your post will include the dietary assessment and advice for neonates requiring nutritional support related to their prematurity or complex neonatal needs . The advice may include supplementation , enteral and parenteral nutrition . Nottingham has a surgical centre and you will lead on the nutritional management of infants requiring surgery in the neonatal period .

You will work closely with the Neonatal MDT including medics, allied health professionals, nursing and outreach teams .

You will have a clinical leadership role and this will include the development of clinical guidelines in line with evidence based practice .

You will be part of the established Children's Hospital Dietetic team of 32 dietitians , assistants , technicians and administrative staff . You will be seen as a clinical lead within the team and will contribute to team development whilst supporting other members of the team .
