Job summary
Are you an experienced Registered Midwife looking to develop into your next role? We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Community Midwifery team in the role of Deputy Team Manager.The successful candidate will work in a supportive team based in the Community.This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills within a leadership role. Our Deputy Team Managers play a key role in the co-ordination of the service on a daily basis, as well as contributing to service development and strategy. Our Deputy Team Managers also support our Team Managers in developing and supporting the wider team including conducting appraisals, facilitating regular team meetings, contributing to recruitment and selection processes and supporting inductions for new colleagues.Our Community Midwifery team delivers high quality care to all women and their families across Nottingham and South Nottinghamshire and we are pro-active in facilitating choice over place of delivery.We will offer you a comprehensive induction package and access to training and development programmes to support you upon appointment.If you would like to know more about this role, please do contact us, we would love to hear from you.

Develop community midwifery practice for the future, to redefine the role and build on public health skills to maximise the impact to reduce inequalities in health.
Ensure that all women have a satisfactory experience.
Evaluate patient processes and redesign the pathway of care as necessary Improve the experience of childbirth for all by offering them the choice of place of birth and involving them in their care.
Support the Manager in the ongoing management of rosters to provide appropriate safe staff cover.
Support the Manager with sickness and absence monitoring as per Trust policy.
Perform staff appraisals.
Incident management/investigations.
Facilitate regular team meetings.
Take part in the recruitment and selection process.
Maximise opportunities offered through improved partnership working in Children Centres and with other agencies.

The Community Midwifery team covers a number of bases across Nottingham and South Nottinghamshire. The service delivers high quality care to all women and their families, and we are pro-active in facilitating choice over place of delivery.
You will be based within a team of midwives and be required to work with the team to ensure the safety of the women and families under their care.
You will be required to travel daily to other areas within Nottingham/shire and therefore, a car owner/driver is essential.
Free parking is available at many of the Health Centres we work from.
The post will cover a 24 hour/7 day service.
