Job summary
NOTTINGHAM UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS TRUSTSPECIALTY GRADE DOCTOR - OPHTHALMOLOGYApplications are invited from suitably qualified ophthalmologists for this substantive position. The successful candidate will participate in a full compliment of clinical care including outpatient clinics, high volume cataract theatres and Eye Casualty sessions.
The duties will be undertaken at the Queens Medical Centre Campus site of NUH.
Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual to gain extensive experience working within a busy ophthalmic teaching department that provides Eye Casualty, inpatient and outpatient services which include a comprehensive range of sub specialties. The successful candidate will be a key member of an enthusiastic team of medical staff providing a quality service to a busy department.
As part of our commitment to provide the best care to our patients, we will in the near future be extending our Ophthalmology service to include some evening and weekend work. As a member of the team you will be expected to participate in the provision of this extended service on a rota basis.
The appointee will be expected to offer a general ophthalmology service, including the delivery of high volume cataract surgery. The appointee will be encouraged to participate in management duties within the department.
