Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic registered children's nurse to work within the Nottingham Children's Epilepsy team.

The successful candidate will join a team of other specialist nurses caring for children with epilepsy. You will be hospital based with a responsibility to see children in inpatient and outpatient settings and to liaise with families at home.

Training and Qualifcations

Essential

  • oCurrent 1st level NMC Registration - RSCN or RN (child qualified)
  • oFirst level health related degree or already working towards this
  • oRecognised Teaching/Assessing qualification
  • oEvidence of ongoing continual professional development within the speciality area

Desirable

  • ExperienoBPNA PET 1-3 Epilepsy Coursece in epilepsy
  • oMaster's Degree in child health related studies
  • oNon-Medical Prescribing course
  • oLeadership qualification
  • oGood Clinical Practice (GCP) Training or commitment to undertake
  • oCounselling qualification
  • oAssessing and Mentoring Training

Experience

Essential

  • oSignificant post registration experience /professional development/management experience at minimum Band 5 level in hospital
  • oCan demonstrate professional autonomy and effective decision making skills when managing a caseload of children and parent/carers with Chronic illness/Paediatric Epilepsy needs
  • oExperience of teaching and assessing competency with a range of professionals and parent/carers

Desirable
