Job summary

Working with a vision of "delivering excellence in all we do" the post holder will work with the Specialty General Manager, Associate Specialty General Manager, Head of Service and Service Lead in conjunction with the Surgery Division Team as a Service Manager for Endoscopy covering the Endoscopy units at the QMC, City Hospital and Treatment Centre to manage its surgical services.

The role will focus on delivering high quality care in line with local and national best practice and targets. The post holder will be responsible for providing daily dedicated management and improvement support to Endoscopy. The role includes aspects of operational, performance and programme management as well as service development to ensure that both services achieve its performance objectives.

The main duties of the job are to work alongside the Specialty General Manager, Associate Specialty General Manager and Deputy Service Managers to ensure operational effectiveness of the specialty across a number of key performance indicators.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of information to support the activity planning and monitoring processes at service/Divisional level, as well as undertake detailed operational monitoring to ensure the service achieves local and national targets.

The post holder will ensure that system and processes are in place to prevent breaches of waiting lists and that Trust's waiting list policies are implemented and monitored effectively. They will also use activity information to manage demand and capacity of the service.
