Job summary

This exciting Band 3 role and service is committed to the advancement of Endoscopic procedures and to the development of staff. Opportunities for professional advancement of knowledge, skills and practice are a focus. With a dedicated clinical nurse educator within endoscopy to support and train new members of the team. Endoscopy services operate across the whole of NUH, at City Hospital Campus, Queens Medical Centre Campus and Nottingham Treatment Centre. It is a requirement that all staff members will work across the three sites when required. Endoscopy is currently expanding its service to include weekend working and three session days covering evening working. Vacancies are full time but part time will be considered dependant on service needs.Shifts will be allocated on an internal rotational roster basis. Main duties of the job

This fast paced and high patient turn over area requires passionate and forwardthinking staff. You must be committed to high standards of patient care and will need todemonstrate the ability to work as a team member as well as under your own initiative. Having excellent communication skills, along with the ability to think independently andprioritise tasks is a must. You will be providing specialist skills, supporting the clinicalteams with a wide variety of endoscopic procedures. You will work closely with a Multidisciplinary Team who care for, and support patients through the service. Specialist Endoscopy Skills training and supervision will be provided to all successful candidates, enabling them to become proficient in supporting both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. The service provides specialist nursing to areas such as Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal services, GA in theatres as well as Respiratory and Surgical specialities, and an out of hours acute On-Call Service.

  • GCSE English and maths grades A to D or equivalent

  • NVQ / QCF 2 in Healthcare or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous experience in dealing with customers, patients or clients within the healthcare setting.

  • Previous experience working in the acute healthcare setting.

Physical skills

  • Able to undertake patient manual handling manoeuvres and non-patient manual handling manoeuvres.
