Two fellowships available at any one time (hip and knee) and it's anticipated that Fellows will spend 6 months in each fellowship, with a possibility of undertaking one sub-specialty fellowship (can be discussed at interview). The Knee Fellow will work under Mr Ben Bloch alongside Mr Reshid Berber/Mr Hosam Matar, and will be exposed to the whole breadth of knee arthroplasty including unicondylar, patellofemoral, primary total and revision knee arthroplasty.

The Hip Fellow will work under Mr Andrew Manktelow with Mr Mark Higgins gaining experience of a complex hip arthroplasty practice, including cemented, uncemented, resurfacing and revision arthroplasty.

Main duties of the job

The Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellow will work with and receive training from Mr B Bloch and Mr A Manktelow. Both consultants are predominantly elective surgeons with Mr Bloch specialising in Knee Arthroplasty and Revision and Mr Manktelow specialising in all aspects of Complex Hip Surgery. The fellow will attend all elective clinics and theatres for the consultants during the attachment. It is expected that the fellow will work for each trainer in turn spending up to 6 months with Mr Bloch and 6 months with Mr Manktelow.
