Job summary

Ward D8 is a 28 bedded mixed Spinal ward caring for patients with emergency and elective spinal conditions. The spinal unit is a specialist Regional unit caring for patients in Nottinghamshire and parts of the East Midlands.

This is a great development opportunity for an experienced Nurse to gain new skills and competencies in supporting learners, preceptors, in the clinical area. You will work within NUH's Regional Spinal Unit and associated clinical areas.

You will work closely with the specialty leadership team to deliver the bespoke education and training when required.

You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be an exceptional clinical role model. The team are passionate about getting it right for our patients and our staff and will support personal development.

A keen interest and significant experience of spinal nursing would be advantageous.

Act as a role model alongside all staff members supporting the to develop their confidence in spinal care and associated clinical practice.

Promote reflective practice, clinical supervision, coaching and experiential learning opportunities developing a learning culture.

Promote by own example, effective multidisciplinary team working.

Contribute towards the development of clinical staff competence in spinal care.

Be a visible role model to ensure that the dignity, rights and confidentiality of the patient and individual team members are protected and maintained in accordance with national standards and guidelines.

Plan, prepare and maintain materials for use in the educational programmes that is accurate and relevant to the target audience.

Monitor and evaluate training feedback and adapt as required.
